Captain Penniman House

Eastham

This beautifully restored French Second Empire-style house, built in 1868, once belonged to Captain Edward Penniman, a prominent whaling captain. Located in Fort Hill, the house is a fascinating piece of Eastham’s maritime history, featuring original furnishings and personal artifacts.

The old but restored bright yellow, two storey house stand in its yard, separated from the street by a short, handmade, stone fence. Farther onto the property a white barn-type structure can also been seen. Also two storeys, it is less well kept but just as old. It is daytime and the sky is clear.
