Did You Know?

Constructed in 1951 in response to the Soviet Union's first atomic bomb test, the North Truro Air Force Station was among the initial radar listening stations designed to detect Soviet bombers. After the Cold War ended, the station was decommissioned in 1994. Today, the site remains open to visitors, with the Park Service offering regular guided tours.
