Best Beaches in Eastham MA

Some of the most family-friendly beaches this side of the rotary, Eastham covers off on ocean side, bay side, and pond beaches for whatever your mood is today.

Sunken Meadow Beach

Known for its spectacular sunsets and shallow tidal flats, Sunken Meadow Beach is a picturesque spot on the bay side of Eastham. The beach is less crowded due to its very small parking area, so arriving early is crucial.

Cooks Brook Beach

Cole Beach

Parking is extremely limited with only about 16 spaces available, and a parking sticker is required during the peak season.

First Encounter Beach

This historic beach, where the Pilgrims first met Native Americans, features warm, calm waters and is ideal for families. It's particularly beautiful at low tide when the flats are exposed. Parking is somewhat ample, but the beach does get crowded, especially during the summer.

Along the edge of the Cape Cod bay, the tide reveals large sand mounds underwater. The dune grass patties edge the frame on the left side and then again deeper out into the middle, preventing us from seeing the whole of Cape Cod Bay. It's a beautiful day and the sky is a clouded blue.

Hatch Beach

Hatch Beach is another lesser-known spot in Eastham, favored for its quiet atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. It's a small beach with clean sands and gentle waters, making it suitable for a relaxing day. The beach tends to be less crowded, and parking is quite limited, so it's best for those who enjoy a quieter, more private beach experience.

Rock Harbor, Eastham

The parking lot is small and tends to fill up quickly, especially during peak season, so plan to arrive early if you want a spot.

Parking is available, but during the summer, it's recommenc. V io arrive early or use the shuttle service, as the lot fills up quickly.

The Atlantic Ocean tide rolls into the beach. Six medium sized rocks are places intentionally in the sand that the rolling water will wash. Beyond the ocean, at the horizon line, the sun has risen and hides behind a couple of clouds. The picture is saturated with blues, browns, oranges, and yellows.

Nauset Light

Backed by towering dunes, Nauset Light Beach is a beautiful, wide beach with strong surf, making it popular with surfers and swimmers. Parking is available but can be challenging during peak season, with overflow lots and shuttle services in place.

Great Pond Beach

Located on a large freshwater pond, Great Pond Beach offers a quieter alternative to the ocean beaches. It's great for swimming and has a more relaxed atmosphere. Parking is generally available but fills up quickly on hot days.

Dyer Prince Beach

A snady shore that gives way to overgrown seagrass and a body of water. A sitting bench edges into the left side of the picture. The body of water takes over and expands to the horizon. There is a boat flowing the water as well. Above the horizon a couple of cloud obscure the sun.

Boat Meadow Beach

This small, scenic beach on the bay side of Eastham is perfect for a quiet, relaxing day or a stunning sunset. The warm, shallow waters make it ideal for families with young children. However, parking is very limited, so arriving early is essential.

Coast Guard Beach, Eastham

One of the most famous beaches on the Cape, Coast Guard Beach offers stunning ocean views and is popular for swimming, walking, and even seal watching. The surf can be strong, so it's a favorite among more experienced swimmers. Parking is available, but it's primarily at a shuttle lot, with shuttles running regularly to the beach.
