Nauset Beach, Orleans

Nauset Beach is a stunning 10-mile-long beach on the Atlantic, known for its dunes, large waves, and opportunities for surfing, bodyboarding, and fishing. There are facilities such as restrooms and food trucks during peak season, making it a popular spot. Parking is available with a fee during the summer season (Memorial Day through Labor Day), and an oversand permit is required for off-road vehicle access. Nauset Beach does not allow beach fires​.

Crystal Lake Beach

Crystal Lake is a quiet freshwater kettle pond, popular for its crystal-clear waters, ideal for swimming, kayaking, and paddleboarding. It's a favorite among families due to its small beach area, shaded spots, and warm, calm waters. Parking is extremely limited, so it's recommended to arrive early. Dogs are allowed from September 15 to May 15, and the beach is open year-round without a permit requirement​. Beach fires are not permitted.

Las Chidas

Also known for their cocktails (hi Mac), Las Chidas is open year round, 7 days a week, for lunch and dinner. We're fans of the Birria.

The Knack, Orleans

A casual/fast-casual burger and seafood joint in Orleans, offering a modern take on classic New England comfort food. Known for its burgers, fries, and lobster rolls, The Knack emphasizes fresh, local ingredients. The crispy fried clams are a standout menu item. With outdoor seating and a bright, welcoming atmosphere, it’s a popular spot during the summer season but locals and die hards pop by off-season because the Knack is open year-round. They're an essential stop for a quick, tasty bite​.

Known for its laid-back brewery vibe, Hog Island Beer Co. pairs craft beer with a range of casual, flavorful dishes. The outdoor space is particularly popular, with locals and visitors gathering to enjoy the brewery's rotating beer selection. The raw bar is often mentioned, and the fresh oysters served here are a fan favorite - so try those and a side of fries (sweet potato?) with the best dipping sauce we’ve had anywhere in a while. Listen hard and you’ll hear some Sublime or Donald Glover playing and you could fall in love. Hog Island is open seasonally, making it a summer hotspot for beer lovers and foodies alike.

Orleans Firebirds Baseball Field

Home to the Orleans Firebirds, a team in the Cape Cod Baseball League, the field is a local gathering spot in the summer months. Baseball games are a huge draw, especially during the summer season, as the Cape Cod League is a prestigious summer league for college players. Games are held seasonally from June through August.

This small museum tells the history of the French transatlantic telegraph cable, which connected Orleans to Europe in the 19th century. It's an interesting stop for history buffs and those interested in technology. Open seasonally, the museum typically operates during the summer months with guided tours available.

Jonathan Young Windmill

The Jonathan Young Windmill is a historic windmill located in Orleans, set in a park near Town Cove. Visitors can explore the well-preserved structure, which is one of the oldest windmills on Cape Cod. The windmill is open to the public during the warmer months, though the surrounding park is accessible year-round.
